Rop is an artist from The Netherlands. He graduated from Design Academy Eindhoven in 2008. After graduating, he made paintings, illustrations and self-published a few books. He's collaborated with Marni, Hermès, Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, Head Porter and Stockmar. He currently lives in Amsterdam.
Wild Animals is the publishing company and online shop of Rop van Mierlo. Since 2019 they created prints, products, and objects based on original designs by Rop.
Van Mierlo learnt to paint using a wet-on-wet technique during art class at primary school. As a graduate, he returned to this style as a way of painting animals where he had less control. This is how Rop's 'wild animals' came into existence. This calendar can be used for birthdays, wedding anniversaries, and many other special occasions to always remember. (Birthday of Neighbourhood = march 16 ;) )
